The first time you use the DSTAT program you will need to initialize the
program for use at your property. There are two ways that this can be
accomplished:
1. Select your property from the databases already
created
OR
2. Complete the necessary set up steps as described in the
“Setting Up Your Property In DSTAT” section of this manual.
Many companies use a standardized setup for their daily reporting. If
your company has a standard setup, you may be able to select your property from
a list of existing databases. The Company Specific Instructions portion of
this manual may contain detailed instructions of how your property is
identified. If your company has already setup a database for your
property, use the following steps to initialize use of DSTAT for your
property:
1. Click in the File menu in DSTAT
2. Click on the New
Hotel Property option on the File Menu
3. Locate your property’s Name or
Location ID from the available databases displayed
(The names displayed in
the list are the names of the database files. These can correspond to
Property Names or Codes, or some other naming scheme. The names may also
follow some other scheme. Consult the Company Specific Instructions for
more information regarding the file-naming scheme.)
Your Property’s Name,
Number of Rooms, Journal File, Input Screens, and other setup details should be
completely ready to use. You can review the set up details by following
the instructions in the “Customizing DSTAT for your Company / Property” section
of the manual.
Some companies allow each property to set DSTAT up independently. If
you do not see any databases displayed to select from, or you do not see your
property listed, follow these instructions to create a DSTAT database for your
property.
(This process is to create a specific database for your
property, instructions for customizing Data input screens, Daily Accounting
Journals, and Custom Report formats can be found in the “Customizing DSTAT for
your Company / Property” section of the manual.)
